    I’ve just deployed a site to a remote server which has been working fine in development, but on the production server (running Plesk) the site won’t load after I’ve logged in to the control panel, but only as a super admin. Logging in to the CP with another member group works OK. :?

    In Chrome I get:

    This webpage is not available

    The webpage at xxx might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

    Error 330 (net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED): Unknown error.

    In Firefox I get:

    Content Encoding Error

    The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

    Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

    The site is set up in a subdomain, i.e. it’s not in /httpdocs/, not sure whether that has a bearing or not. Anyone seen anything like this before?

    Search forum on: ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED, has a few possible answers.

    Turns out turning of gzip compression fixed it.

    Glad to see you were able to get it resolved, John. Let us know if there’s anything else we can help with!
