    Hi,

    I was trying to upgrade EE 1.6.7 to EE 2.5.2, and upgraded it but after completion of all steps when I click on Front-end or CP Admin, getting below error.

    An Error Was Encountered

    Site Error: Unable to Load Site Preferences; Invalid Preference Data

    Thanks in advance.

    Is this with MSM?

    Not used MSM. Just one site is there.

    Hey narendra,

    I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.

    This error is very common when ExpressionEngine cannot connect to the database. Can you double check that connection?

    Cheers,

    Database settings are correct. I haven’t changed in upgrade process, it was same as EE 1.x(working).

    Do I need any change in that?

    Hey narendra,

    When you say that the DB settings are correct, are you connecting with the same credentials as a successful test via PHP?

    Can you double check?

    Thank you,

    Hi shane,

    Thanks for suggestion.

    I have double checked the details and it’s correct.

    Actually, if I changed anything in DB credential, it shows blank scrren. That mean, it’s not connecting with DB with wrong credentials. But If I changed this with correct details it shows load preferences error it means it connected to DB correctly but some issue with loading the preferences.

    Thanks

    Hi Shane,

    I have followed 1.x to 2.x steps as given in below link.
    http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/installation/update_from_1.x.html

    In Step 6, I am facing this problem. I have tried all things again but result is same still.

    thanks,
    Tejas

    Hello narendra,

    Can you paste in the line from your config file for the version number?

    The entire line.

    Thank you,

    Hi Shane,

    Below is the code from config.php file.

    $config['app_version'] = "252";
    $config['install_lock'] = '1';
    $config['license_number'] = '1111-1111-1111-1111';
    $config['debug'] = '1';
    $config['cp_url'] = 'http://www.domain.com/system/index.php';
    $config['doc_url'] = 'http://expressionengine.com/docs/';
    $config['is_system_on'] = 'y';
    $config['allow_extensions'] = 'y';
    $config['cookie_prefix'] = '';
    $config['multiple_sites_enabled'] = 'n';

    Do you want to see “exp_sites” table data to view the preferences? May be something wrong in that.

    thanks
