I created a front-end login for members to view permitted pages.  These members can create their own blog entries in the backend.  The question is how to create a quick link from front-end to post an entry in backend rather than going to admin.php > login again > Content > dropdown to Publish > choose Channel: Blog > Edit Entry.

I want to avoid using Safecracker.

    Hello counterintuity,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

If I understand you correctly you want to quickly edit an entry without having to go through the navigation on the front end. The only way I know to do this is through Safecracker.

Did you have an idea in mind for making this happen? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

    Cheers,

Thanks for responding back.  What I meant was a link in the front end website into the backend’s Publish page.  Say I have “Post a blog” link in the front end of the website.  Click on it will take you to the backend right away instead of going to admin.php, log in, click Publish > choose channel, etc.

    Hey counterintuity,

As far as I know this is not possible. But a SafeCracker form is just that, a form on the front end that allows you to create an entry as if you are logged in to the Control Panel.

Is there a reason you wish to avoid SafeCracker?

    Thank you,

“Is there a reason you wish to avoid SafeCracker?”

It is more than what the client asked for.  Just a simple quick link to post.  So having SafeCracker would means few hours of work.

    Hi counterintuity,

    Understood. Good reason.

I can move this over to Community Help Forum, maybe a community member has a hack that would work. Not that I am endorsing a hack ... ahem.

    Cheers,
