Our client has thousands of products and multiple images for each product.

I believe this is causing the following error when we try to pull up the filemanager from the control panel:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 17 bytes) in /home/username/public_html/domain.com/public/system/codeigniter/system/helpers/form_helper.php on line 944

The php memory limit is 256MB .
    File upload limit is 25mb.

This also seems to affect the file browser popup when adding files from the publish page. Uploads seem to work, but when paging between the various folders, some work but most are inconsistent and usually just blank…making it impossible to select a previously uploaded file.

And, of course, because we can’t get the Filemanager to come up, we also can’t modify or add upload directories.

    Hi openmotive,

First, I have to recommend that you update to the latest version of ExpressionEngine and all your add-ons. And with that out of the way, it certainly would be related to the number of files. Likely the size of the overall result set maxing out the memory.

There have been numerous improvements to the File Manager especially since 2.1.3 was current, so that brings us back to updating ExpressionEngine.

    Cheers,

Planning an upgrade in a couple of weeks anyways so we will re-test this again after the upgrade and see if it’s working better then. Nice to know there have been lots of changes in the filemanager.

    Thanks!

    openmotive,

    Fantastic.

In the meantime, is there anything else I can assist you with?
