This question may be related to a resolved thread.

I am having a similar issue to the one outlined in the thread linked to above. However, I have set the Default Status for my Channel to “Open” and there are still no options appearing in the “status” dropdown menu for the new individual entry that I just tried to create.

Please help me resolve this problem as it is preventing me from making new content visible to my site visitors.

In addition, I just noticed that if I edit existing content, it loses its assigned “Status” as well. So if I edit something that was previously “Open”, it disappears from my site because it no longer has a set status (and no options to choose from in the “status” dropdown menu, either).

    Hi tupssfoa,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble with ExpressionEngine!

Is the member account you are using a Super Admin? Have you made sure to assign the default status group the the channel you are trying to edit?

With out a status group assigned, only Super Admins can edit the status of an entry.

Go to Admin->Channel Administration->Channels: Edit Group Assignments and double check that the default group has been properly assigned.

I look forward yo your reply!

    Cheers,

I was attempting to edit as a super admin. However, I had not assigned a default status group for my various channels. That did the trick. Thanks for your assistance!
