I’m using Magpie to pull in two RSS feeds, but the feeds are slow.

This is an issue with the site they are coming from, not Magpie itself.

Is there a way to tell EE to work on bringing in the RSS feeds after loading the page content? Otherwise it looks like it takes forever for the client’s site to load.

    Hi, Jason,

Magpie is run in the template and it needs someone to hit the template to act.  You could do that via a cron job on an otherwise unvisited template so your visitors are not effected.

The other option is to use DataGrab to actually import those RSS entries into channel entries on your site so that pulling up the data is a local operation.

    Does that help?

    Both great suggestions!

Thanks, I’ll look into which one works best.
