My host is now supporting MariaDB as a drop in replacement for MySQL.

Performance is supposed to be significantly better, and I’d like to try it out.

I just have several EE sites on this host, and want to be sure that EE would be compatible.

Is there anything I should be concerned about or check before trying the switch?

    Hi, Flying Fish -

ExpressionEngine requires MySQL to run; I’m not familiar with MariaDB but I’d be very surprised if it worked with EE.

Sorry for the bad news on that! You’re welcome to submit a feature request for a future change to support the MariaDB option.

    Thanks!
