    When I am logged in as a member/superadmin.

    <a href="{url_title_path='template-group/'}">

    generates this

    href="http://domain/S=6eac61d0f8d0ab66aca5923ef85ff8985a130603/template-group/url_title"

    When I am not logged in it generates this as I would normally expect.

    href="http://domain/template-group/url_title"

    I inherited this build part way through and I’m sure I’m missing something obvious but I’ve searched the forum with no luck. Any ideas what is causing this?

    EE v2.5.2 local install on MAMP. Index.php removed using officially approved method.

    Hi timprint,

    Just to check something, if you allow index.php back into the URLs (reverse the removal process), does the URL with the session ID look like this instead?

    <a href="http://domain/index.php/template-group/url_titleS=6eac61d0f8d0ab66aca5923ef85ff8985a130603">http://domain/index.php/template-group/url_titleS=6eac61d0f8d0ab66aca5923ef85ff8985a130603</a>

    {url_title_path} is indeed supposed to add the session ID to the URL, if one exists and that’s the type session being used, but it should append it, not throw it in the middle. If you’re just looking to get rid of the session ID from the URLs entirely, you could change the User Session Type in the CP to Cookies only, as is the default.

    I’ve just tried it with index.php back in - It’s still putting the session id as segment 1.

    I’ve switched to using just cookies. I think it should be fine. Still a bit of a mystery why the session_id was being put there, I couldn’t find any similar problems in the forum. Think I’ll let that go and move on though.

    Thanks Kevin.

    I’ve just exactly the same thing after I upgraded to 2.5.2 from 2.4.  I t had me properly stumped for ages but I can confirm that switching to cookies only session sorts the problem out.

    Glad we found a resolution for that one! If there’s anything else we can help with, just let me know!
