Greetings.  I have searched the forums and “the Google” all over to see if anyone has a fix for this, but can find nothing.

Title / Subject says it all:  My deleted pages are still appearing when I perform ai site search.

I have manually done “REPAIR TABLE tbl_name QUICK” on all my EE tables in the hopes that this would be rebuild the full-text indexes, but that has had zero effect.

I am running EE v2.3.1 - Build: date 20111017.  Yes, I know that I am behind a security update which I am deploying right now, but I thought that I would post this issue while I was upgrading.

Please let me know if this is a known issue and / or what the fix is—have some upset executives that deleted content strings have left traces on the site.

    Have a great day.

    Hi Dr. Seuss,

I’m sorry to hear about this, but I need a little more context to help out.

When you talk about deleted pages, what does that refer to?

What search module are you using on your site?

ExpressionEngine’s native search builds the results in real-time. Nothing is aggressively cached or stored in the database at all. It only searches what is actively in your channel entries based on the criteria passed via the search form.

Any third-party search module or google results would be out of our control.

I look forward to your reply!

    Cheers,

    Hi, Dan.

re: “Deleted Pages”—sorry, failed to mention that we are using the “Structure” add-in.  So deleted pages here means that we are removing a channel entry, right?

re:  “Search”—we are using the standard EE search (i.e. “{exp:search:simple_form”)

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Seuss,

re: “Deleted Pages”—sorry, failed to mention that we are using the “Structure” add-in.  So deleted pages here means that we are removing a channel entry, right?

I can’t really say if deleting a Structure page deletes the associated channel entry. If it *does not*, those entries would still be retuned with search results.

I would double check in your channels to see if the entries have been deleted.

    Cheers,
