Recently went through a really rough upgrade from 1.7.x to 2.5.2 and I’m discovering all sorts of little issues.
The issue I’m facing now is that the ‘Show Formatting Buttons’ line is missing from existing and newly created fields ... see attached screenshot.
I’ve checked through these/ previous posts and followed advice found there to no avail.
I could use some help to fix this up.

Hey markphillip,
I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.
Is this on a text area?
If it is, you may try re-uploading the themes folder as some of the functionality in the Control Panel is located there.
Please let me know.

It’s just a plain ‘ole text field (not textarea).
I’ll try uploading the theme folders yet again and we’ll see what happens ... stay tuned!

Okay, so I guess plain ‘old text input fields can’t have HTML buttons any longer?
When I change my custom field to textarea, the formatting options show up.
This is different from 1.7.x to 2.5.2, I guess ... previously I had no issues.
I think I’m all good to go on this now ... close it out!
