I’ve just deployed a site to a Windows server and am getting errors saying the thumbs directory is not writeable even though tech support for the server are saying the directory definitely is writeable. This happens when creating/editing an entry or using the file manager directly.

    Hi Tyssen,

I’m sorry for the trouble you are having!

How are you using Windows as a server? Is it IIS or a WAMP stack?

I’m not familiar enough with Windows permissions and ownership, but the type of server setup can have an impact on it.

    Cheers,

Server path includes Inetpub, so it looks like it’s IIS.

    Hey Tyssen,

I am also not familiar with Windows as a server.

Checking permissions and ownership are key. Do you have a server admin that can work with you? Do the logs have any info that might point you to the solution?

    Thank you,

Yes, server admins are working on it and they have CP details to look into it. I was just wondering if there was anything that others had experienced that I might be able to pass on to them.

    Hey Tyssen,

I am sorry I do not have more to offer here. I am not aware of anything else to try.

Please let us know if you make any progress.

    Cheers,
