Uninstalling MSM and merging two sites

I have a client with two websites using EE and MSM. They now want to merge the two sites into one domain. Is there a way to do this without uninstalling MSM?

The two sites are clientdomain.com and clientdomain.ca (canadian site). They want to merge the Canadian site so that the clientdomain.ca website is under clientdomain.com (using a url like clientdomain.com/canada or canada.clientdomain.com).

If possible, I am looking for the quickest way to get this accomplished hopefully without having to uninstall MSM and having to merge all the templates and content into the main site.

    Thanks!

I don’t think this is a matter of merging sites so much as reconfiguring how MSM is setup and how the domains are mapped.  With MSM you can run your sites out of subfolders or subdomains rather than separate domains.

    Consult http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/sites/domainsetup.html

You’re probably going to want a redirect from the .ca domain to the new URL as well.

Mike’s advice is probably the best. The quickest way from here to there is to simply re-map where the second site is pointing. I’d also recommend adding a cookie prefix if they’ll both be residing on the same domain name to prevent one site’s cookies from overriding the other site’s cookies.
