    Hi there,

Many apologies if this has already been covered somewhere, I just couldn’t spot it…

I have an ExpressionEngine running multi sites. One of these large site I need to replicate as a new site, with just some small design changes.

Being a complex site I really want to clone the existing one and create a new multi-site with this to edit, it will save me a good couple of weeks!!

Is there anyway to clone a site like this at all?
If there isn’t, are there any good modules recommended that could clone or export/import parts of the site such as the channels, templates etc?

    Many thanks in advance…

    James

Do you want to clone an existing site as a new site in the same MSM install?  Or a separate install?

The former can be done during creating of a new MSM site.  The latter isn’t currently possible natively.  You’d have to copy your entire install to a new location and then strip away the unneeded parts.

Yep- exactly as Boyink! said.  There are some add-ons that allow you to import/export data.  But honestly- if you need to copy a single MSM site to a standalone EE install?  I’d just copy the whole MSM site (do it exactly as if you were moving to a new server and then delete what you don’t need.  Which with MSM, should be fairly easy.  When you delete the unneeded sites, you’ll ditch most of your excess.  I’d think that’s the easiest approach.
