Is there a way to include a section written in .asp within an EE2 website? I’m rebuilding a website in EE2, but there is a section of the old website that should remain in tact. How do I make the section work in the new website? Simply placing the directory within the new website doesn’t work. It looks like this.

    Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately I don’t know anything about asp.  In the abstract, there should be no problem.  You’ve got your asp pages up and running- you install EE, you make sure not to create any template groups that would conflict with existing folders.

In other words- just let them run side-by-side.  I’d probably move the asp bits over at some point just to make things easier, but there’s no inherent conflict.

That said- those asp pages don’t remotely look like they’re parsing.  Or… what have you.  I think you’re going to need to talk to someone who’s at least familiar with asp.  Once those pages are working, running EE along side it is no problem.  But getting it worked is purely asp related.  Which I wish I could help with, but I know less than nothing on that one.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll keep looking around! It’s nice to hear that it is theoretically possible.

If you can get the asp bit working and PHP is installed on the server- it should be pretty simple from there.  Though sadly it looked liked windows servers were preferable for asp?  In my quick bit of research.  Which can be a hassle in php, but is certainly doable.

Luck with the asp bits- and give us a yell if we can help at all on the EE end of things.
