I’ve had this happen on the last 2 or 3 installs of EE, and I can’t figure why its doing it:

no plugins show up in the Add-Ons > Plugins panel of the Control Panel, even though all plugins are installed correctly in the /third_party folder, each plugin is in its own folder (correctly named as per the plugin), and each plugin functions correctly when employed in a template. The only one that shows up in the CP is Magpie RSS Parser.

The other odd thing is that SOMETIMES (not always), when you create a new custom field (text or text area), all the plugins show up in the ‘Default Text Formatting’ drop-down menu….?

Anyone else had this? Is this a documented bug?

    Hi Nick,

I’ve seen that once before, and I can’t immediately recall the resolution. I do remember that it was pretty obvious to me once I got into the install and took a first-hand look. Would that be possible here? Be on the lookout for an email from me.

Just posting a note here to let onlookers know that we’re working with Nick privately on this for the time being. I’ll post an update back here once we have something to share!

The issue is (partly) resolved… if you’re using the Health Check CP accessory, and you’re experiencing this problem of no plugins showing up, try changing the Health Check folder name from /third_party/health_check to /third_party/_health_check (with an underscore in front of the “heath_check” folder name).

Regarding the issue of all plugins showing up in the ‘Default Text Formatting’ field drop-down, when creating a new custom field, there appears to be a filed bug on this:  https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/17490
