    Hi,

I’m having really long load times on certain pages with admittedly high query counts (100-150). One page with 150 queries takes between 20-30 seconds to load. Apache and MySQL are running off the same virtual server with 10GB of Ram. Today we had 30-40 concurrent users and CPU usage was completely spiked and the entire site was unresponsive.

We recently upgraded from 2.3.1 to 2.5.2 as well as updating several plugins. After this update was pushed live we noticed the slowdowns. When running the site locally on a modest MacBook Air, pages that take 20 seconds on the server take ~0.7.

I realize that working through these issues is multi-faceted and can take a while. I know I’ve left out detail, tell me what would be helpful to diagnose the issue and I will provide as much as possible.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi neongray,

The first thing to do in troubleshooting this is to try to narrow down the problem area. First, let’s turn on the Output Profiler and Template Debugger. Next, see how long it takes a blank template to load and note how many queries are involved. This gives us a baseline for your whole installation. (Report those figures back here!)

The next thing would be to compare the load times and query counts for various other templates on your site. Could you report back here a sampling?

Also, check your server’s error logs as the load times might be the result of EE waiting on your server for something it can’t do.

I’ll do my best to help troubleshoot this!
