I have 2.1.0 Expression Engine and planning to upgrade to 2.5.2.

I realized that I renamed the “system” folder to “ee” at first time I installed 2.1.0 EE.  Now coming upon upgrade, I don’t know if I should change my “ee” folder back to “system”.  I found two places to change “ee” to “system” which would be “index.php” file and Admin > General Configuration > URL to your Control Panel index page.

Are there any other places I should find to change “ee” to “system” before I upgrade?

Or better yet to add changes to certain files in the upgrade package to keep “ee”?

    Hi counterintuity,

You don’t need to change the folder name back to system before an update. Just follow the usual update directions and substitute your system folder name (ee) where the directions refer to the default “system”.

EE’s upgrade wizard is smart enough to handle it if you renamed your system folder. Are you running into issues?
