    Hello,

I have created a site for a music festival and year one has come and gone.  Now its time to start thinking about next year and I would like to archive the site as it is so people can still access it, but I would like to also create a new site that is pretty much exactly the same thing.  How would you recommend doing this?

If you use the Multi site module (MSM) you have the option of building a new site by copying much of the information from the original site.  You will thus get a lot in place for “free”. You would refrain from importing old channels while keepting structure and general content, and freely restructure the new site while having the old site close by for copying and pasting.

Mind -  you are adding a layer of complexity that could cost you at various points in the process. However, the next festival after that would go a lot smoother. However, this is one of many possible approaches. There could be additional arguments against going the MSM route.
