So this morning I was updating ExpressionEngine from 2.4.0 to 2.5.2. The updates went well until 2.5.1 tried to update to 2.5.2. Then I get a blank screen.

I can’t complete the update from here.

I should mention, this hasn’t effected the site or even control panel access. Both work fine for the most part. The control panel now has the following message:

Your ExpressionEngine installation’s version (2.5.1) is not consistent with the reported version (2.5.2). Please update your installation of ExpressionEngine again.

I just renamed the installer file, so that I could have CP access again. But I’d really like to complete the install, and I’m not certain what’s going on. It doesn’t seem to be related to the php.ini issue, but I could be wrong.

    Hello allgood2,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.

What do you mean by the php.ini issue? What is that about?

It sounds like you may have actually have upgraded to 2.5.2 successfully but gotten a PHP error that was not shown. PHP errors love to give blank pages.

Can you tell me what version your config.php file says you are at?

    Thank you,

Hi Shane-  I read this thread [url=“http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/219747/”] that leads to another thread that discussed a php.ini issue regarding timezones. Which doesn’t appear to be my issue.

The config file says version 2.5.1.  I believe that’s the cause of the “Your ExpressionEngine installation’s version (2.5.1) is not consistent with the reported version (2.5.2). Please update your installation of ExpressionEngine again. ” Being reported in the control panel right now. Otherwise, I turned error reporting on, but still just get a blank page.

    Hey,

Unfortunately I think you may need to roll back and follow this guide. It sounds like something went wrong during the update.

Please let me know how that goes.

    Cheers,

Sorry for the late reply. This is a side project for a friend and generally only gets my attention on random weekends. I’ll rollback and then try to update again. Should I rollback version 2.5.1 (the last successful update) to 2.5.0 and then try to get to 2.5.2?

    Hey allgood2,

    That sounds good.

You will want to roll back to the most recent successful version.

    Cheers,
