I have a site with ee that has recently stopped serving pages. I get the error message in the subject line. I have googled this and found instructions to set the sql mode, apparently to something other than strict. See here:

I am not the usual site maintainer and know nothing about ee. I have root access and can in principle change the site behaviour, I suppose by editing the relevant php files. I badly need suggestions about what to do. The site designer says he doesn’t know what to do. I have already restored a backup from a couple of weeks ago when the site was working ok. No joy there. Other sites on this Xen vhost are ok, I think this is an expressionengine issue.
Ideas? Instructions to read?
