This question may be related to a resolved thread.
I seem to be having a similar issue to this in that the entry is not creating the {file_dir} infront of the actual _thumb/filename.jpg
Now this wasnt happening before so im wondering if this is an issue in the latest realease or not?

Based on your statement, I infer that this is after an update?
Can you tell me the version you updated from/to?
The resolved thread, the user mentions that updating /themes solved the issue for them. Have you tried that as well?
If you can, please describe the process that is leading to your experience. Where are you seeing the behavior? Is there any relevant template code to include?
Any more detail you can provide will be most helpful!
