I am considering upgrading my PHP Version in preparation for the upcoming release of EE 2.6, and motivated by a module bought that does not work with our existing version.

We are still using EE 2.3.1 with PHP 5.1.6 and can upgrade to either 5.2.17 or 5.3.14

Will either of these versions be ok with EE 2.3.1?

In general do people have issues upgrading PHP or do they find that in the majority of cases most older code is supported?

    Many thanks

    Hey jamesaa7,

I check with our devs and it “should” work. But as always, the best thing to do is upgrade to 2.5.2.

    Does that makes sense?

    Cheers,

Hi Shane, not really the answer i was after.

When version 2.3.1 was released, and during the time while it was the latest version i assume it supported certain versions of PHP? What was the oldest and latest versions then?

    Regards

    Hello jamesaa7,

2.3.1 will work with the latest version. 2.x has had the same php/mysql requirements for its entire run. That has been version 5.1.6 or newer.

Any anomalies will be noted in the change log. I did not see any listed. So you are good to go.

    Cheers,
