    I can upload PDFs and images quite fine, but whenever I tried to upload an epub or mobi file I was getting an error stating the file has an invalid file extension.

    I did some digging and found that I’m supposed to add the file types to the mimes.php and I added this:

    'epub' => 'application/epub+zip',
    'mobi' => 'application/x-mobipocket-ebook',

    but I’m still getting the error. I’m running EE v2.4.0 - Build: date 20120123, a little old I know.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Tony,

    Indeed, the edit to mimes.php should have sorted it out.

    When you try to upload, are you logged in as a Super Admin?

    Are you uploading in the File Manager or via channel entry?

    Cheers,

    Hi Tony,

    Apologies for the delay! We try to be responsive within 2 business days, and we don’t have coverage over the weekend. So sorry for your wait!

    I’d like to poke this first hand, so be looking for an email from EllisLab! In the meantime, try uploading via the File Manager through Content->Files->File Manager

    Cheers,

    Hi Tony,

    I responded in private, but wanted to get it out here as well.

    The end result was that when trying to upload the new file types via Wygwam/CK Finder, it would throw and error.

    It seems that Wygwam/CK Finder maintains a separate list of allowed file types outside of mimes.php

    ExpressionEngine’s native File Field type and the File Manager allows the file typed to be uploaded no problem.

    Cheers,
