I’m starting a new thread in the event that people were getting overwhelmed with my updates on the other one (located here: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/218912/)

I’ve been having issues setting up MSM to work properly.  The closest I can get is if I have two completely separate sites like so:

    SERVER
    |-Site 1:
    |  |- /images/
    |  |- /system/
    |  |- index.php
    |  |- admin.php
    |
    |-Site 2:
      |- index.php
      |- admin.php

I can log in using either site1.com/admin.php or site2.com/admin.php.  Both sites appear as they should when I can either of the domains.  I can put a site in the template and pull content across

What I CAN’T do is upload files from Site 2 in MSM!  I have one channel that uses Channel Images. No matter whether I have the template preferences set to use a directory in site1.com or site2.com, it creates the folder like it should, but doesn’t upload anything (and doesn’t give me any errors).  If I switch back to Site 1 in MSM, I can upload files using the exact same channel.

I have literally spent HOURS on this and am beyond baffled and frustrated.  I appreciate the fact that everyone is busy (including me), but I responded within 30 minutes of getting an initial response yesterday, and now have waited almost 36 hours to hear something else.  Sorry, but that’s not very acceptable.

OK, I’m getting down off my soapbox….

    Todd

Regardless of what I do, it will create the folder in the location, but doesn’t actually upload the file.

    Hi Todd,

I understand and empathize with your frustration. You are among many in a queue that orders first in/first out. It takes us up to 48hrs during the business week to respond, sometimes longer. I do apologize for your wait.

Are these sites in a state that I can login for a closer look? Be looking for an email from me.

    Cheers,

Hi Dan -  They are currently internal, but I’m going to set up DNS so you can get access.  I got your email and will reply back ASAP.

    Thanks!

    Todd
