Thanks for posting to the forums!
Looking back over that thread, the user said it had to do with a malformed cookie being set.
Are you seeing the error in any other browser?
Are you seeing the error in the Control Panel or on the front of the site?

No the error only occurs in IE, FireFox, Chrome and Safari all display the site correct.
I have tried to delete IE’s cache, cookies and temp files but the error remains.

Can I ask you to update to ExpressionEngine 1.7.3 and see if the issue persists?
