I made the available bug fix corrections to source, and upgraded to 2.5.1 this evening.

On reporting a bug set in the file manager, I noticed 2.5.2 was listed in the Bug Reporter.

Sure enough, 2.5.2 is what you get if you download EE now, and it includes the corrections as well as some improvement to ipv6, according the release notes.

I would think highly recommended, if you are about to start an upgrade.

Apologies to Support for a recent moment of grumpiness, by the way. You’re doing as you can, and working hard at it, appreciated.

    Regards,
    Clive

    Hey Clive,

You can vent all you want my friend, we can handle it. As your advocate I want to know where and how I can best help you and if you need to vent your frustration here, then go for it. I take your feedback and I present to my team and we often talk about how to improve things and make our users happy. It’s nice when our users remember that we too are human and that we really are doing our best. So thank you for pointing that out. 😊

    Happy car washing!

Hey, Shane, and thanks for the nice reply.

You know, sometimes we take a kind of calibrated approach to actually showing how a thing feels. Others need to know, when and often _where_ matters may be out of balance, from another point of view. That’s then an opportunity for everyone.

I do appreciate more than may be easily imagined about the difficulties with a fresh team on a long-developed project. The same with the things that will ‘just happen’ with any team’s work. Again, it’s a balance to have dependable enough procedures to catch the most egregious upsets without stifling forward work or boring everyone.

I often think rather philosophically about the EE effort, its unique combination of approaches which give a lot to all those who use it, in the midst of an extremely complicated network of internal desires, other open source efforts, partner developers, etc..

It’s a good challenge, and your nature of response here, Shane, gives me a nice feeling about how you are building to handle it.

A nice week-end to all of you on the team. You’ve earned it.

Oh, almost forgot. Your bandana has been reminding me of something, and it turns out it was a great film, which really will make you smile besides its gentle touch with realities. This is Gung Ho, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091159/. Probably you can find it at the video store, or any of the online places. Hope you can enjoy. Subject there is cars also 😉

    Best,
    Clive
