External links (target="_blank") not opening in new window

I need external url links to open in a new window. Nothing I have tried is working. Even just a standard test link such as:
```
<a href="http://www.google.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Google</a>
```
...opens in the same page.

Am I missing something simple here? I feel like an idiot right now.

Thanks for jumping in on such a vague post! lol

I just hopped on here to post my goof. I was grabbing the wrong elements in a jQuery script. All is well in this world again in regards to the issue. 😉
