    Hello,

I would like to create a user group for our research members at http://www.faithology.com to be able to create new templates and pages throughout the website, yet have the pages automatically carry over the theme and backend code..  I want our users to have full control to create new pages and edit them around the website.

When publishing a new entry, how do you add the theme, or the entire site code to the new page automatically?  Currently I am manually adding the code and the expression engine tags for where the content will go, but I would like this to be automated.

I only see the option to allow users to add/publish content to an existing coded page(which is where I keep adding the code manually).

Basically I want to allow our team members with no html or coding experience the ability to create new pages without them having to add any html.

I want our websites basic html to automatically be duplicated into a new page, and allow the user to only edit or add content to certain sections.

Can this be done with themes?  Any way to accomplish this?

    Any help/direction would be awesome!

    Thanks so much!

    Brandon

    Hello BMPIRE,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

As far as I know this is not possible out of the box and a quick search around Devot:ee did not return anything.

Page and template creation require a bit of coding knowledge to create. You could make most of the page embeds and have them just copy paste the embed statements in with commented out code that says “type text here” or something like that.

Please let me know if I can answer any more questions.

    Cheers,

Could I accomplish this with joomla? I have a pretty good knowledge of html/css.

I need templates to be auto created and the staff to be able to just input the content.

Any ideas on another cms or other options I have?

    Thanks,

    Brandon

    Hello BMPIRE,

I have never used Joomla so I have no idea. You may want to contact them.

You may want to look at the pages module. That’s the only one I can think of. But the template would stay the same just the content would change.

    Thanks for your response.

The pages module might be what I need.

We will be using the same HTML code in each template, just the content will be changing.

I just don’t want the team having access to the HTML code.  I want it to be automated.

    Hey BMPIRE,

Sounds like the pages module is the way to go then. All you give the user access to is the publish section. Lock out Design and you are good to go.

    Cheers,
