Entry status changes to "Closed" when editing entry

    This question may be related to a resolved thread.

    Every time a change is made to an entry that entry is marked as closed. It happens in more than one channel but not all of them. The default status is set to “Open” in all channels. How do I troubleshoot this issue?

    I’m running ExpressionEngine 2.4.0 with MSM.

    Make sure you have a status group assigned to the channel.

    If you don’t it’ll work fine for SuperAdmin users but will behave as described for non super-admin users.

    Thank you. That was it. Is this a bug or a feature? “Status Groups” dropdown menu was set to “None” and there was no other option so I had to create a new group first. I thought that there is a default “Statuses” group that EE comes with…

    Not sure what I’d call it - basically a known behavior when something isn’t right..😉  EE should somewhere indicate when a channel doesn’t have a status group assigned however.  And you’re right - there is typically a default status group in the system upon install.
