    Hi there,

I have installed the Cookie Consent Module on one of my sites to comply with EU law, the problem is the EE software isn’t totally up-to-date so it appears the module isn’t working properly.

When I try to login, it says I can’t login because I need to accept cookies. The problem is, the checkbox isn’t displaying to allow me to accept the cookies. Therefore I can’t even login to the backend of my site.

    Please help!

    Thanks

    Hello koko.pelli,

    Well this is no good.

You can try a few things.

FIRST - backup. Just to be safe, backup the DB.

    1. Try and clear your cache, you can just blow away the contents of the cache folder if just clearing the browser cache does not work. The box may show up after that.

    2. Remove the plugin buy deleting the Add-On in the Third Party directory.

    3. Let me know if you are still in trouble at this point. We may need to do some DB work and I will have to run though it myself and ask a Dev some questions.

    Cheers,

    Hi Shane,

    Thanks I will try this.

Regarding point 2… I renamed the Add-On in the Third Party folder to try to disable it, but it took down the whole site. Would deleting it be any different. The reason I ask is I don’t want to delete it if it breaks the site and I am unable to get it back again.

    Thanks for your help

    Hey koko.pelli,

Yes, do not delete it then. Each Add-On is different. There must be some things in the DB that want the Add-On there.

How did the other test go?

    Thanks,

All sorted now, thank you. Disabled the add ons in the config file, then logged in and removed the module.
