    Hi

    I have a url that looks somewhat like this http://mydomain.com/index.php/foo/bar/some-url-title/xyz

    in there I run this script:

    {exp:channel:categories show="{segment_4}" style="linear" dynamic="yes" category_group="1" parent_only="no" show_empty="yes" status=“not closed”}
        {category_image}
     {/exp:channel:categories}

    If xyz is the id of a subcategory nothing shows up. If xyz is a main category everything behaves as expected.

    After some googling I came across this bug report https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/16486 that refers to version 2.2 and is almost a year old and not assigned to anybody.

    Has this been fixed?

    Sven

    PS: Btw - the snotty and plain stupid answer that this behavior is “expected” is incredibly annoying. How can you expect sub categories not to work at all? It’s a bug. Admit it. Assign it. Fix it.

    Hi,

    You can display subcategories of any parent category using Child Categories plugin.

    Hello 40FS,

    Today the forums seem to have a theme and it’s categories!

    I agree with Laisvunas, an Add-On is going to make your life much easier. Check out the Add-On he has suggested and please let us know what you think.

    Thank you,
