Hello everyone, I got a client that wants a website that also has a Document Management System and I’m looking for a way to use expression engine to do so. I been looking around for a plug in but I haven’t found one yet, so does anyone know of any? or anyone has an idea on how to go about it?

    Thanks

You’d have to list out what features they are looking for.

EE can store documents and meta information all wrapped into a single entry, etc - but if the system needs to track changes/versions more closely then EE might not be a good fit.

They don’t need to track changes or versions, but they do need the ability to share files between departments, also to have the ability to set permissions as to who can view the file or who can download it.

That would all be do-able, between native permissions and any of several permission-related addons available.

Check Out the Channel Files plugin from DevDemon, it might help you out depending on what you need.

just suggest Folio to the client, it has everything he wants, and then when he checks price of it, he will give up ...
