Is it normal that a member of an ‘admin’ group wouldn’t be able to effect a change to a non admin members email via the control panel? It seems impossible to change another members email address unless you have Super Admin privs… :?

EDIT: This is on a site running EE 1.7.1.

    Hello Nathan,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

When you say admin group, is this the Super Admin group or a group you have created? Did you modify this admin group in any way?

    Please let me know.

    Cheers,

It’s a group I’ve created… it has ‘can admin member accounts’ set to yes. I can log-in and amend the member group another user is assigned to but if I want to change their email address or username I cannot… even is I enter ‘my password’. Am I right in thinking that even as an admin I have to enter ‘their’ password to effect such a change? If so seems odd… means that no one other than those with Super Admin privs can administer members in full… :/

    Hello Nathan,

That is correct, SA’s are allowed to admin users in full and no other account.

Is there anything else I can help with?

    Cheers,

Ok, that’s a shame. I don’t really want to give the staff responsible for managing members access to anything and everything. Do you know of any add-ons or modules that might help?

    Hello Nathan,

I am not aware of any Add-Ons that do this. Sorry.

I can move this to the Community Help Forum and see if there are any ideas there.

    Cheers,
