    Unbridled Books

    Hi,

I’m on version 2.31.  While users are on a specific book page, I would like to have an automatic search that will search the data fields in other channels for matches to specific keywords in the book page.

For example, the current page is about the book “Geography of Secrets”.  At the bottom, I would like to have a link or button that says “See other books similar to this one”.  If the user presses the button, I would like it to take data from one of the custom fields and run it through the search.  When I do this manually, using the advanced search, it does what I want it to.  But I don’t want the user to have to enter those keywords that are already embedded in the book data.

Is there a way to use the search without having the box come up?  If not, what is the best way to accomplish something like this?

    Thanks
    Warren Austin

Your best bet is to create those related books by using categories, relationships or a tagging module.

    Hello Warren,

Does Mike’s suggestion make sense? Is this something you can try out?

    Cheers,

Yes, it makes sense.  The problem is that I would have to go back and categorize or tag all of the data.  I wanted to pull a search on existing custom fields that already have the info.  But, if that’s the best way to do it, I guess I’d better get started.

    Thank you very much.
