    HI,
I’ve found heaps of posts on the (annoying) timeout of the control panel, but I have a site where I’m in need of a long User Session timeout. I’m using SafeCracker to gather data from the users and the current timeout is too low.

Where do I set this duration?

    Hello jensa,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

You can set the lockout here: CP Home -> Administration -> Security and Session Preferences.

    Does that help?

    Cheers,

Hi Shane and thanks for the reply.
I’m not really interested in the Lockout. It’s the Timeout I need to adjust. Any way to do that?

    Hello jensa,

    Gotcha.

You can tweak the cp-session-ttl variable. I think that will get you what you are after.

Looks brilliant. That’ll affect Safecracker users too, right? Any page refresh from an ordinary member should refresh the Timeout?

    Hi jensa,

That’s the ticket! Users logged in should be effected by this setting.

    Cheers,
