    I am setting up a forum which is using the standard EE template engine. All tags seem to work fine, except for ONE - the {current_time} global variable. I have this in the footer to output the year next to the copyright. Pretty basic tag, but it doesn’t output - instead it shows the ee tag with the curly braces - {current_time format="%Y"}

Is this a bug, or is this global variable not supported through the forum templates for some reason?

    Thanks,
    -m

    Hello

I am sorry to hear you are running into this snag.

Here is a list of the global variables available to the Forum Module.

Are you running the forums through templates?

Not all of the Global Variables are available in the forum.

    Please let me know.

    Cheers,

Yeah I saw that list - current_time isn’t included in that list, but I am running the forums through the standard EE templates, so I thought it would work. Do you know of a work-around?

Also, I set up the forums to run through standard templates, however none of the sub-pages work anymore… I have it set up to run at http://domain.com/community/forums/ and when any third segment is added it throws a 404 error…

I am running EE 2.4 and the latest discussion module build (3.1.7)

Edit: I resolved the sub-page issue. There was a conflict with how I was using Structure. I created a template group called “community” and a template called “forums” within which I placed the {exp:forum} tag. Removing “Forums” as a sub-page of “Community” in my Structure tree resolved the issue.

    Hello maodiddy,

You would think so, but it’s not available.

You might be able to use PHP for this, but that is far from an elegant solution I know.

A Feature Request would be good. 😊

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Cheers,
