I was following this thread: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/215184/

But I didn’t want to hijack it in case the original poster came back to get troubleshooting help.

I’m experiencing the same issue and would love for someone to hold my hand and walk me through ruling stuff out. I’ve been thrown into maintaining EE, so this CMS is very brand new to me although I’m excited about learning. 😊

I did already verify the permissions of the ‘uploads’ and specifically the ‘profiles’ and subsequent ‘_thumbs’ directory. They are all set to 777.

    What should I check next?

    Thanks!

I’d take a look at the source to see the path to the image.

1: What should the path to the image be
2: What does the source say the path to the broken image is

Thank you! I’m not sure why I didn’t catch this before… Turns out the images are pointing to our live server versus our development server, so they always show up broken.

I didn’t think the base URL was hardcoded, but actually entered as a value from the backend. Is this the case for images and if so, where would that value get reset to relative (versus absolute), or do I need to go digging in our code to find where the URL is hardcoded?

    Thanks!

    Update -

I found the location referencing the Upload Directory for the images. Once corrected, it fixed the issue.

    Thanks again!
