We’re running EE 2.4.0, and save templates as files.
After renaming a template, and saving it, it creates the new template in the filesystem. It doesn’t remove the template file with the old name, and while quite a bad UIX / workflow, I believe that’s just standard EE behaviour.
However, going back to the newly renamed template via the CP, making a change, then re-saving, I now have a duplicate FILE in the filesystem, with the new name, but missing the file extension. So now I have THREE template files on the server…:
1) the original template.html file
2) the newly named template_new.html file
3) the extension-less template_new file, which seems to be the one linked to the db version (eg: if I make a change in the cp, this is the only server file updated)
Afraid to continue development, make changes to template files, or run a Sync templates for now, and this is seriously impeding development.
What on earth could be going on? Is this replicable on your end? Any ideas what to look for?
