Anyway to randomize channel entry lists?

I am not sure if this is possible in EE, or whether there are any plugins that can do it, but I have a set of about 20 items with photos that I’m storing as channel entries. I need to show a grid (ie. Matrix) of the photos on a page, but I have to always randomize the entry order on the page (due to politics in my client’s organization).

I am currently doing this by having a separate CI app acting as a REST server to my EE front-end, but it would just be so much easier to just do this all in EE.

Does anyone know how to make the order of channel entries come back in random form?

Hi Myles,

Indeed!

The channel entries tag can use the orderby=“random” parameter.

That should do the trick for you.
