Not sure why this is happening - never seen anything like it before http://d.pr/lWTw

It’s not a css issue, the actual footer is being called before anything else.

    I’m running 2.4 and have a number of third-party add-ons installed.

    Hi Steven,

This looks like it might be an add-on issue.

BEFORE TYRING ANY OF THE BELOW PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR WEBSITE FILES INCLUDING THE EE SYSTEM FOLDER AND DATABASE.

Here is what I would try:

    1) Try re-uploading your EE system files again. Make sure you don’t overwrite your “config.php” and “database.php” files in the /config/ folder. This will insure you don’t have any corrupted system files. Then test and see what happens.

    2) If the above doesn’t work then it’s more than likely an add-on issue. You should check the add-on creator’s website to make sure the versions you are running are compatible with EE 2.4 and upgrade them if possible. You might have to post on their forum to ask for compatibility as it might not be stated on their add-on page.

    3) If that still doesn’t fix the issue then you will have to turn each add-on off one by one and test to figure out which one is causing the problem.

    4) If none of the above works then I would ask someone from EE to have a look for you and you might have to re-install everything from scratch.

    I hope that helps.

    Mike

It’s weird, went back in after being on another project for the last few hours, nothing changed during that time, normality resumes.

Oh and you don’t backup files 😉 you create a new git branch!

well I use git for version controlling my entire EE site. So with the current site, I can do something like ‘git branch busted_ass_site’ and that command replicates my entire site. I can then switch to that branch ‘git checkout busted_ass_site’ and make as many changes without affecting the master site.

If I fix what ever was broken I can switch back to the master site ‘git checkout master’ (with its busted code) and then do ‘git merge busted_ass_site’ and it’ll merge the corrections with the master site.

    Hey Steven,

Glad to see this is working for you.

Using Git or SVN is pretty common these days, and with Eric’s Master Config it’s even better.

If this shows up again, please do let us know by opening a new thread.

    Cheers,
