My Client has experienced a couple of norton alerts, which is a totally different topic. When I was looking around the admin panel I noticed that they had 46000+ misc members. Is there a way to get rid of all of those spammed members in bulk and is there a way to prevent them from being added???

Hi Robin,
Spam registrations are terrible, but the add-on community has plenty to chose from for preventing new spam registrations. For getting rid of your current problem, look at Members. It will help you identify and eliminate your spam.
Have you changed the default member profile trigger work in Members->Preferences?
