Upgraded from 2.0.2PB01 to v2.4.0 - Build: date 20120123 successfully (though the URL of the themes folder had to be manually updated).

Now if I go to the Publish ยป Edit link it gives me the following error:

    A Database Error Occurred

    Error Number: 1146

    Table ‘******_EE2012.exp_comments’ doesn’t exist

    SELECT `entry_id`, COUNT(*) as count FROM (`exp_comments`) WHERE `entry_id` IN (‘503’, ‘502’, ‘501’, ‘486’, ‘500’, ‘499’, ‘498’, ‘497’, ‘496’, ‘495’, ‘494’, ‘493’, ‘492’, ‘491’, ‘490’, ‘489’, ‘488’, ‘487’, ‘485’, ‘484’, ‘482’, ‘481’, ‘480’, ‘479’, ‘478’, ‘477’, ‘476’, ‘475’, ‘460’, ‘459’, ‘458’, ‘457’, ‘456’, ‘455’, ‘453’, ‘452’, ‘450’, ‘449’, ‘441’, ‘424’, ‘423’, ‘419’, ‘415’, ‘411’, ‘405’, ‘403’, ‘402’, ‘400’, ‘399’, ‘396’) GROUP BY `entry_id`

Have you checked in your database to see if the table exists, if not it maybe checking your backup copy.

Have you got a backup with the table in it, you can always add it back in.
When i updated it messed me around a little, i had to do a little manual DB work.

    Hi Zizther,

I’m afraid I don’t have that table in my backup.

I wasn’t using the comment functionality - would it be possible to just create this table?

This then opens up other questions - if I’m missing this table, am I missing any others? I currently have 74 tables.

Many thanks for your support so far.

I guess you could see if the comments module is installed, i have uploaded an sql dump of the 2 comments tables and the full EE 2.4 tables so you can compare.

It maybe worth trying the importing the comments table and then if that does not work compare you tables with the fresh install dump i did.

Just make sure: If your table prefix is different from ‘exp’ edit the file before importing it.

The table number can change depending if you have any add-ons installed. On a fresh install of 2.4 you should have 76 tables, so you maybe missing the 2 comments tables.

    Hi Zizther,

The comments module was not installed, which is as it should be.

I have imported your blank comments tables into my database and it now works.

Many thanks for the guide through this and your quick responses.
