Would it be possible to put together a site based on : http://www.my-picture.co.uk/. The client is only looking for a very basic shopping cart, where a user can submit an image and select canvas size etc, and check out. Not sure how I would organise the ordering process as above website :S

    Hello designerj,

Thank you for posting your question.

ExpressionEngine comes with a very simple eCommerce module called Simple Commerce that you could start with.

Your client’s idea can also be quickly realized with an Add-On. There are several that offer e-commerce solutions. BrilliantRetail, cartThrobe, and Store are just a few.

I can also move this thread over to the Community Forum if you would like. Not only would other community members have experience with all the above products, they would be more than willing to give you their opinions on which one is best for what you want to do.

I hope this helps. Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Cheers,

Placing it in the forum could be helpful. I’m just wondering how EE would incorporate users uploading an image as part of their shopping cart process?

    Hello designerj,

I will move the thread on over.

Uploading files on the front end is already something users can do out of the box with SafeCracker forms. I would think the ecommerce Add-Ons would have something in place already, but I am not sure as I have no used one yet. This is where the community will help you out.

Thanks again for posting your question.

    Cheers,

    Hi Designerj,

you can do it with simple commerce module which manages shopping cart for adding more than one image once. as this site will not be a product store and orders are being placed for uploaded images.

so you have to manage uploaded images as cart items. also maintain relationship between placed order and uploaded image so that an order can identify its image.

Thanks, sounds great. Did a little digging and found this thread which might help as it seems to cover a similar project: http://expressionengine.com/wiki/PayPal_options_and_Expression_Engines_Simple_Commerce_Module
