Control Panel Theme Problem

    I have an EE 2.1.0 site where I noticed today that the control panel doesn’t seem to load the theme correctly. If I click “expression engine info” tab, it says A database error has occurred but the site and control panel seem to work correctly and the live site seems fine.

    I haven’t made any changes to the site or theme and it had been working fine for some time now. What could be the problem? I don’t know where to start to solve this problem.
    Any advise would be appreciated.

    The problem occurs on various browsers.
    I have noticed that I have this issue on another 2.1.0 site.
    The control panels also run very slowly.
    Now I have noticed that this is only for Super Admins…..still digging in here while I wait for some professional advice.

    Hi Andy,

    I’m sorry that you are having this database problem and slowness. Could you provide a list of all third party add-ons that are in your site and a screen shot of the error on the “info” tab?

    If possible I would like you to upgrade your site to 2.4.0 as there have been many fixes and improvements since 2.1

    Thanks for the reply.
    I read a few posts that mentioned the Accessories causing problems lately so, I have turned off the “Accessories” and the control panel now loads fast and properly without error notice, which was showing in the Accessories Expression Engine tab at the bottom of the page. I will plan for the update to 2.4.

    Anyway I guess there is an issue with the Accessories function in 2.1.0 now? My other updated sites seem ok. Any info. on this issue might be helpful just to give me more knowledge. Is that something on the outside that broke or is no longer compatible with 2.1.0. Just curious.

    Hello Andy M,

    I am glad that things are working for you now.

    I am not aware of Accessories being broken in any version, a quick search through the bugs did not being anything up. I would dig into this with you and file a bug if there is one, but we do not file bugs for older versions. It’s upward and onward so if this were to happen in 2.4 then we would file a bug, if that’s what it is.

    Well, on Friday and Sat. I noticed that only super admins control panel style was incomplete, and the accessories tab showed “A Database Error Has Occurred.” Site and CP worked fine, but slow CP.
    I disabled accessories and the CP was restored.
    Today I enabled accessories and all is fine. Not sure what happened but I had this issue on a couple of 2.1.0 sites.
    Anyway I’ll be updating the 2.1.0 installations soon.
