This question may be related to a resolved thread.
I just wanted to echo this previously closed post.
I had accounts set to be activated by email, but the emails were not being sent.
UNTIL, i went and manually resent one of the emails (which worked), THEN account activation emails began going out automatically.
Is this a known bug?

Actually,
The activation emails are still not being automatically sent. They’re only sent when I manually resend them…
:(

Hi Adam,
I’m sorry your account activation emails aren’t being sent properly.
What version of ExpressionEngine are you using?
What are your settings in Admin->Email Configuration ? As well as your settings in Member-> Preferences under the General Configuration heading?

Hi Dan,
I’m not sure what the issue is here, everything seems to be working fine now, but I’ll keep this post updated if I run into the issue again.
EE v2.4.0
