I’m currently searching for a ssl provider for one of my sites and there is a huge difference in price and in what you would get. I used comodo and geotrust before but there are many more options. Any preferences?

I don’t have many requirements except that it will show the green lock or is it worth to go for the EV certificate?

    Nobody using ssl?

I’m currently thinking of trying out the godaddy service. They have an ssl ev certificate for one domain which is only 175 for two years. Anyone experience with godaddy ssl?

    Hello Robertjon,
I just came across your post yesterday.  I work for DigiCert and there are some independent reviews that you can find here: http://www.sslshopper.com/certificate-authority-reviews.html
I’ve worked for DigiCert for a few years in the customer support department and I think that’s one area where we shine head and shoulders over the competition.  DigiCert has free support over chat, email and livechat, so if you run into any questions, or problems please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

I was in a similar position. I decided to use GlobeSSl because of their price. If you are an ecommerce based site and woulld be accepting payment then I would recommend EV as it promotes trust among your users, otherwise get a domain and organisation SSL.
