Is there a way to refine calendar entries by author? I currently have this tag but it doesn’t seem to be working. I have confirmed that {embed:author_id} is indeed passing it’s id number correctly.

I’m guessing this isn’t how you accomplish this—but what is the correct way?

Hmm. You’re right, strangely an author_id parameter doesn’t exist for exp:channel:calendar.

The most efficient way for you to do it is _probably_ to make a calendar template using normal exp:channel:entries loop. That’ll give you the most control and would be reusable on all future projects.

I’m always weary of these ‘niche’ methods because they don’t seem to share the basic functionality of the more standard methods and I’m always a little worried that it’s a sign they’ll be deprecated.

Have you seen any examples of this that I could reference? I am in agreement that it’s probably moving away from the calendar tag, and makes sense to simply port it over, however, I’m having a hard time thinking of a way this would be completely feasible with the standard tag. I can of course script PHP to do something of the sort, but it just seems a little too “raw” of a solution. The simpler the solution, the better.

You are correct, there is no author_id to limit the events to one author in the calendar tag. This is not a support parameter.

The best implementation of a calendar that I have seen is Calendar by Solspace.
