    I’m running version 2.3.1 and I have

    $config['autosave_interval_seconds'] = "180";

    set in config.php.

    When I start a new entry, fill in some of the fields, and wait three minutes, I do see the “Autosaved at xx:xxPM” notification immediately to the left of the Submit button.

    However, if I then leave the page (without submitting/saving it), or if I wait so long that EE automatically logs me out, I can’t find the autosaved entry anywhere in the Content > Edit page. Nor can I see any sort of Autosaved Entries button anywhere on the Content > Edit page.

    Finally, I tried doing what was suggested in this thread comment (the last post), and the reposonse was “The query you submitted did not produce any results”.

    So, is the system falsely telling me that entries are being autosaved? I really need this to work as advertised.

    Hi Marc,

    I did my best to get a handle on this one for you. There is definitely something bizarre happening. I tested this on new, unsaved entries and saved and then edited entries. After the autosave time passed, both instances were “autosaved” and the data appeared in the exp_channel_entries_autosave table as expected. However, If I closed out of the entry, in either case, without saving, the autosave data was cleared from the table.

    I poured over the User Guide looking for a description of this feature so I could have an understanding of the expectation as to how it is supposed to work. I was unable to find anything concrete, so I am going to escalate this to see if we have found a bug, or if you and I both are missing something crucial about the intent of autosave.

    Thanks for your patience.
