I’m getting this error on my CP home page after upgrading a site to 2.4.

    A PHP Error was encountered
    Severity: Notice
    Message: Undefined variable: version
    Filename: views/homepage.php
    Line Number: 13

I’ve looked at the file /system/expressionengine/views/homepage.php and don’t see a variable $version anywhere in the file! HALP!

    Hello Roger,

Where are you seeing this error exactly? Would you mind posting a screen shot?

    Do you have debugging enabled?

I will keep and eye out for your response.

    Cheers!

Hi Shane, I’ve attached a screenshot. Debug is currently set to ‘0’ in both the main index.php file and the system/index.php file. Let me know your thoughts.

    Roger,

It may be that you have had an incomplete upgrade. Could you roll back to your previous version with the back up you made before doing the upgrade and try the upgrade once again. Also be sure to follow the instructions on retrying after a failed up grade

Hi - I had this problem and came across this post looking for the answer. If anyone else is getting the same error, I found an easy fix 😊. I was going to roll back and run the update again, but first I re-uploaded the views/homepage.php file, and that seemed to fix it. I assume it was an FTP error rather than an EE error.
