Hopefully someone can help. I have upgraded to 2.4.0, I have created a new file upload directory, I can upload when going to content > Files > File Manager, it wont let me manipulate the image but it lets me upload.

If i then go and post to my news story channel and try and upload (i have defined the file field can only upload to news) the upload button does not work and it actually shows files from the ad folder.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Hi David,

Sorry for the delay responding to you. I’ll do my best to get this resolved for you as soon as possible.

I just tested on my 2.4.0 sandbox and was able to crop and resize images in the file manager. Could you go to Tools > Utilities > PHP Info and check to see if you have GD2, ImageMagick or NetPBM on your server. If so then go to Admin > System Administration > Image Resizing Preferences and check that the settings are correct.

When you are publishing a channel entry in your News Channel are you logged in as a user with the correct permissions to upload to that directory? Has the field been set correctly? Could you try changing the upload directory to “any” in the field settings and see if you are then able to upload a file?

Please let me know how this works for you.

Sorry Sean, I had typed a whole response out to this on the 4th so thought all had gone quite.

I reuploaded the theme directory and it seemed to fix it, no idea why that made any difference as everything in image utilities was ok, additionally the same for the channel entry publishing.

However now I have reuploaded the theme I can no longer edit articles, if i click edit it just goes to a blank page. Not sure why im having these issues?

    Hi Oxygen Solutions,

I’m glad to see the first 2 issues are sorted out. Let’s see if we can get you back to editing your existing entries now.

When you have this trouble, are you logged in as a Super Admin? Do you see any PHP errors as a result?

The reason this works as a fix has to do with files being corrupted during FTP. The same thing can happen to /system as well. Can you re-upload /system ? Making sure you backup the contents of /system/expressionengine/third_party and /system/expressionengine/templates.

Also, have you made sure to update any third-party add-ons you might be using? Especially any field types.

    Thanks!

Sorry I have been playing with this for a few days. I am logged in as a Super Admin, with no errors.

I tried what you said above. It only happens when a Channel has content, I can get into a channel without content to edit (but theres nothing to edit of course!).

    Help!
